OKCD Presents:
Négyesy & Nykter: Berio, Nono
----------------------------

Order Now!
János Négyesy was born in Budapest, Hungary, and studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and later at Detmold, Germany. Between 1970 and 1974, he was concert master of the Berlin Radio Orchestra. He gave the world premiere of John Cage's Freeman Etudes in Italy, which he later recorded. He has also received acclaim for his expertise as master of the Mathews electronic violin. He passed away in December of 2014, while still actively promoting the experimental music of contemporary composers -- "with his boots on" as they say in Hungary. Päivikki Nykter is a native of Finland and studied at the Sibelius Academy of Music in Helsinki. She was a founding member of the Finnish contemporary ensemble AVANTI!, and occupied a principal position with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed widely at international new music festivals in Europe, North and South America, and Japan. Ms. Nykter performs all over the world while making her headquarters in both California and Finland.
