OKCD opens a new line of "virtual CDs" which are exclusively down-loadable albums

SAN DIEGO, California -- June 30, 2012 -- Old King Cole Productions is proud to announce that it is inaugurating a new line of "virtual CDs", also commonly known as mp3s. These are full albums of music that can be downloaded from iTunes, Amazon.com and other distributors in full or by individual track listings. These offerings can be found on the catalog page (click the logo at the top right) and scrolling past the "real" physical CDs. The first, alphabetically, is Igor Korneitchouk's Orchestral Recapitulations, followed by Drake Mabry's first album of music, poetry and photography - Parallels.

OKCD is proud to also be the first to release an album by the American living in Paris, experimental composer, Drake Mabry. The exclusively down-loadable album , Parallels, is a 15 piece set of musical meditations for piano that parallel the artist's own set of 15 short poems, Reflections, and 15 image photo album, Waves. The images and poetry are available directly online at the OKCD website while links direct the customer to the mp3 downloads.

The release of the exclusively down-loadable album by San Diego experimental composer Igor Korneitchouk, Orchestral Recapitulations, is a collection of orchestral works that have been released on other labels - MMC and ERM - but are no longer in print. The rights have reverted to the composer and these pieces are now all available under one cover. Information about each piece is available directly online at the OKCD website while links direct the customer to the mp3 downloads.

###

DRAKE MABRY is a composer, painter, photographer and poet. His music has been widely performed and his paintings and photography have been featured in numerous exhibitions. In March 2011 his collection of bilingual poetry Drakedonius was published by Le Plac'Art. A true Renaissance man, Mabry also improvises on the Mideastern woodwind ney and practices the art of ebru, an ancient Turkish tradition of painting on water. He divides his time between France, California, and the rest of the world.

IGOR KORNEITCHOUK is currently Professor of Music at San Diego Mesa College. Along with his three other albums available at OKCD (check them out!), Korneitchouk's wide range of musical output is represented on several other recordings released by Centaur, Omega Editions, Vox Novus and Aucourant Recordings. American Record Guide calls his duo for prepared violins "cutting edge... handled with a good sense of dramatic timing." He is a founding member of the performance art group touch me hear, exploring the boundaries between music, art, drama, technology, performance and audience participation.
